After 8 years, the person that was the love of my life, my partner-in-crime, my fiancé and my best friend lied and betrayed me.

Ever since I could remember, I never bothered to listen to song lyrics, memorize them or understood the meaning of any song I liked. If I liked a song, I’d sing along but never would pay attention to what they were singing about. Hell, I never knew what Lil’ Jon was singing about in ‘Get Low’ till I saw Chris Rock spell it out for me!

Then a funny thing happened.

After 8 years, the person that was the love of my life, my partner-in-crime, my fiancé and my best friend lied and betrayed me. It was easily the hardest thing I had to deal with in my life. I just couldn’t, and still till this day cannot, understand how anyone could act in such a way that she has with me. Especially to someone that they love. For the record, I am not a disgruntled or distraught ex-boyfriend. It was my idea to break up, not hers. I knew we both needed to go our separate ways, but I always thought we would be friends.

I wanted her to move on and find someone, because all I ever wanted to do was make her happy. I always thought we’d be friends, like we were to the very end.

Why she thought she needed to lie and be deceitful, I have no idea because I would have been the very person to support her in every way. But it seems that this is the way she starts and end relationships. She started & ended ours with lies and she begins her new relationship with lies. She couldn’t even come up with a different story and apparently is doing all the same things that we did. Is that normal? I’d think that if you wanted a different life you’d do different things, not the same things you did with your ex.

“This is probably the greatest kung fu battle of all time”, is the quote that some people are giving this fight seen. I say, Hah! Your Kung-Fu not so great!

In this clip from the 1986 flick “The Young Taoism Fighter”, one of the fighters (Hero Ko Sheng) demonstrates his “Separate Body Style” to defeat his nemesis. Hero Ko Sheng discovers that the best way to defeat the pee drinking, placenta eating, skeleton hand/sword/whip-wielding villain Tien Wu is to come apart at the seams.

Shiet, my cousins and I came up with this shit in our back yards and all we would hear from our parents was, “Quit that, where do you come up with all this weird stuff. Go play a board game to stimulate your brain instead.” Our glamourous career as a Kung-Fu movie producer quashed.

I was only 12 years old at the time and had never seen anything like it. Of course it was the first of it’s kind, but it’s the kind of thing that Apple and Steve Jobs have been able to do over and over for almost 30 years, to arouse, invigorate, enkindle, transform, influence, stimulate and inspire. From that very first day 27 years ago to today. Thank you Steve.

He would have been 44 years old today. Most people [...]

He would have been 44 years old today.

Most people at some point in their lives, if they’re lucky, find a connection with a song, singer or group. It is this personal connection with music that enables a person to actually experience what is being communicated, rather than merely understanding the lyrics. Bradley had tremendous talent for writing great lyrics only to be cut short by a heroin overdose. To me he was one of the greatest in part because he wrote and sang about how he lived life and you had no doubt for a second that it was true.

Oh well, the bars are always open. And the time is always right. And if God’s good word goes unspoken, the music goes all night… – Bradley Nowell

It makes me feel good to know that Bradley’s music lives on and is still popular till this day, and I’m not talking about Sublime with Rome either. Again, how can you connect with anyone singing someone else’s lyrics. The fact that there are young diehard Bradley Nowell fans who were still in diapers back when Sublime originally blew up is indicative of the talent that Bradley was able to convey through his music.

“Good music is good music, and that should be enough for anybody.” , Bradley Nowell

Thank you Bradley.

Peace.

Watching Jeremy in this game and seeing his entire career and life change within the span of a single game gave me chicken skin.

Nothing better than being able to say those there little words, “told you so”! It took a bit longer and about three different teams, but I tried to tell you guys about this kid 2 years ago.

This is the guy who no one offered a scholarship to. The asian kid who came out of Harvard and no one drafted. The guy that the Warriors and Rockets waived. The guy in Ryan Higa’s youtube videos.

Well, the other day Mike D’Antoni and the Knicks gave him a decent chunk of minutes for the first time in his short NBA career and he blew up.

25 points, 5 boards and 7 dimes in win over the Nets. Madison Square Garden went nuts. Two nights later the Knicks gave Lin a starting spot and he let everyone know that his breakout game was no fluke; 28 points and 8 assists in a home win over the Jazz.

The hype surrounding him right now is insane. He’s generating a huge buzz on Twitter, the Knicks are marketing him like crazy, every major sports outlet in the country is covering him.

Like I said, I’ve been following Jeremy’s story for a couple years and it’s been hard to watch him get ignored again and again by so many coaches and teams. And he’s been such an underdog for so long, that when he finally got a shot and went off on Saturday it was just so satisfying to watch. Watching Jeremy in this game and seeing his entire career and life change within the span of a single game gave me chicken skin.

Besides Lin’s plays, check out the way his teammates on the bench react – it makes the video even better to watch.

This is, by far, my favorite YouTube video of the year. Full highlights from his game vs the Nets below.

I’ve never heard of Ross Capicchioni before, and unless you happen to have stumbled on this video already, you probably haven’t either. Four years ago, when Capicchioni was 17, he was lured into a bad neighbourhood in Detroit’s notorious east side, shot three times and left for dead.

A 2-part documentary explaining the survival of Ross Capicchioni after being betrayed and ambushed by his own friend on the rough streets of Detroit. It’s a simple yet extraordinary tale, told in a captivatingly genuine way. How he survived, how he battled back from his debilitating wounds, how he stood up in court and identified the kid who pulled the trigger (who, as it turns out, was trying to join a gang that required its initiates to kill a random stranger) and how he copes with the lasting psychological scars.
